GB AG Triathlete

I’d travelled on Friday afternoon just to take the stress of the race away and to be able to relax. The day before a race is not about gaining anything fitness or training wise, it’s about acclimatising to the conditions of the venue, familiarising yourself to the race surroundings and to fire up all the bodys systems in readiness to race. I’m used to having all my gear by my bike and making my clothing decisions around the conditions, on race morning. Arrived at the race venue by 0530 as per my plan and clipped my bike shoes onto the bike, blew up my tyres and prayed to the triathlon gods to get Kolin and I around in one piece. The race started with a rolling start at 0700, so I made my way to the baggage tent and started putting on my wetsuit when my support crew turned up. You self seed in time order a bit like at the beginning of a run race. Took my bike off the rack, fired up my Garmin and headed for the mount line. Bike time: 3.39.00 and third bike in AG. T2. I decided to stay safe and not take my feet out of my shoes. So I just dismounted the bike and had the slippery run along the wet tarmac in bike shoes instead. I racked my bike, took my shoes off and tested out my run legs on the long run back to the transition tent. The RESULT. So during this race, all thoughts of an AG podium had disappeared on the bike and I had to keep reminding myself that I was here to finish.

Tina Marie Caouette moved to Las Vegas in 2008 for many reasons, but the primary reason was her then recent UFO, as well as abduction experiences, that occurred while living in the outskirts of Sin City. Tina spent a couple of years with the Las Vegas UFO Hunters, and started Majestic 12 TV with them. In 2012, Tina Marie was once again given an opportunity to show her skills behind the scenes and was hired at KDWN 720 Radio in Las Vegas. Programming Director, John Shaffer at KDWN was actually the one that helped get the air time for her show at KDWN called Restricted Airspace. With all of her past contacts from Majestic 12 TV, this show is undoubtedly filled with topics addressing UFO’s, the paranormal and conspiracies. The show airs each Friday night at Midnight and will definitely be the one hour you don’t want to miss each week. Adding to her wealth of experience, in the Summer of 2014, Tina was the guide to Area 51 for a UK film crew who was shooting a reality TV show called Educating Joey Essex. Tina’s job, over the four day video shoot, was to educate Joey Essex on UFO’s as well as contacts. Currently, besides her weekly radio show, Tina is in the process of writing a follow-up book called Project Deep Core. As if all that were not enough, Tina is presently working in conjunction with an illustrator and looking forward to launching a series of fun-filled kids’ books ranging from Golden Retrievers to a series on UFO encounters.

Clydesdale Triathlon

We had our normal swims to the Coffees of Hawaii Espresso Bar, bike rides out the Queen K, and beach time in Waikoloa. Out of the water, a quick glance at the clock, 1:10! Wahooooo! That’s good for me in a non-wetsuit swim. Grabbing my bike and jogging to the mount line, very happy to see more bikes around than last year and I’m ready to go after Stefan’s time and chase down Timbo who probably smoked me out of the water. Finally up Palani and out on the Queen K. Long line of cyclists ahead is always a sight to see. Not 30 seconds into the descent and I’m up to 40 MPH and spinning out the standard! Harsh crosswinds throw a little wrench in my attack, but still much faster than last year. Up the quick climb and then back down to Ali’i, the knee was holding up! Nothing fast, but respectable! Giving it some more time to make sure, I get through town and out to the sponsor houses where I could relax a bit in my stride without throngs of people at the waterfront. Up the hill we go! Top out on Palani and out the long grind of the Queen K. Chrissie is chasing her boyfriend and gives me a good cheer as well. With the mellow pace, I got to make friends out on the race course. Enter GoSonja! Sonja ended up being my victim for most of our time out the Queen K. Not sure if she like the chatty Brett I had become, but hey, she was cruising along with me. Climb back out of the Lab and the final stretch back home.
