Busy Guys, Balanced Lives
Let’s face it, when we get really busy, it’s our healthy habits that suffer. Hey, sometimes work or school obligations need to take priority. Nothing is more important than your health, so make time for a few quick workouts this week. If wearing the same thing you wore yesterday starts to become a common fashion decision for you, that’s not a good sign. You can only burn the candle at both ends for so long. Or that least that’s the only explanation you can think of. In all seriousness, it can be hard to find time for our friends when life gets hectic, but just think of all you’ve invested into those friendships, and all that they’ve done for you. We don’t need to go into too much detail here, but let’s just remember that there are many facets to a happy, well-rounded life – not just work. Your kitchen appliances have become extra storage space.
Triathlete shares insight on fitness resolutions
Triathlete Paul Huyer has been involved with Joe’s Team since 2008.. It can be difficult to maintain fitness-based New Year’s resolutions. World triathlete Paul Huyer couldn’t agree more. Huyer finished in 13th place as the first Canadian in his age group. Huyer wasn’t always an experienced triathlete and traces his success back to Joe’s Team. Huyer became involved with Joe’s Team in 2008 as a spectator. Huyer participated in his first triathlon at Joe’s Team the next year. Huyer’s first experience with Joe’s Team as a spectator was different from his initial expectations. For additional motivation, Huyer recommends telling people about your goal. As a seasoned runner, Huyer found that training for a triathlon actually improved his running. Huyer advocates starting with an effort that allows you to enjoy what you’re doing.

Pacemaker Club: Triathlon & Pacemakers
I’m new to this forum and just wanted to find out if there are any triathlete’s out there competing with a pacemaker. I am scheduled to have mine next week and I’m desperate to get back to my exercise and very hopeful that I can return to the level I was before I started experiencing heart issues. As a background: I was firstly diagnosed with RVOT-VT, which was ablated in June, however during the lead up to the ablation I had some other weird episodes that I have now found out were heart block … these have progressively worsened. At this stage I am have frequest VEB at rest and the progressively worsening heart block on exertion/exercise. My resting heart rate is very low but I always thought that was due to fitness. I must admit that if I stay still too long I just get tired; whereas keeping busy keeps me going.
