Triathlon Training

I had also entered Pembrokeshire coast Triathlon at Broadhaven at the weekend so it meant I would have a bit of a rest before the race. Still getting the power dropouts, but have sent my power meter back, againI may write a post about that bit of kit someday! Had a long run on Thursday and was surprised to see that my running has improved again! Cancelled my swim session on Friday, as I was feeling a bit fed up with the pool and I didn’t want to do another session for the sake of it. On Saturday I raced Broadhaven and won! That was a real surprise, I knocked 5 minutes of my previous time, so I was obviously very pleased with that! Full race report is here. I still need to do some work on programming myself to believe that I am a strong swimmer, as it was always my weak sport in my subconscious, I still think I am not good, but the last 2 races I have done I have had pretty good swim times. Women, as you will know have varying hormones throughout the month, so at times all we really want to do is sleep all the time, when at other times of the month we are outgoing and confident, this corresponds to our cycle. There is a lot more detail on hormone horoscope, which I find really helps me to deal with moods and how I feel certain times of the month! This relaxed me quite a bit, and I also mentioned to Patrick the night before, that the last time I had my period on a race I won! I didn’t get my period until after the race but I still find it really interesting, as I am about a kilo heavier in the week before I start my period, so you would think that my performance would be worse. Maybe its time we started taking it into consideration, it is a massive part of women’s lives, but seems like people don’t really want to talk about it, although with online forums maybe people are starting to discuss more topics like this.

My Countdown to the NYC Triathlon

Thank you for visiting my triathlon training homepage! We each decided to train for the NYC Triathlon for a unique reason, but we’ve come together with hope that our individual efforts will make an incredible impact. The rest is icing on the birthday cake! Training is officially complete-it’s time to rest up and get ready for the big event. I’ll post once more on Friday, before my family arrives and the celebration really gets underway…. TRAINING UPDATE: JULY 12. The workouts will certainly get harder before they get easier, but I have so much to look forward to-including having my parents, Amy, Peter, and Adam fly in for the race! Only 25 more days…. TRAINING UPDATE: MAY 24. It’s hard to believe that the race is nine weeks from today! It’s starting to feel more real, and as training has continued at a steady pace and the prescribed workouts have become a bit more intense, my anticipation and confidence are building. As many of you know, shopping for a wedding venue! We were engaged about two months ago, and time not training is spent browsing the Internet, making lists and coordinating trips upstate. Of course , there’s work…and volunteering…and a social life…. It’s a whirlwind, and though it may sound strange, the training schedule has kept me anchored even as it is picking up! I now know that I’m able to swim a quarter-mile, and also that that I can jump off my bike and immediately start runningand keep running. After the painful 6AM alarm and the schlep up there, the sky cleared and we were rewarded with an invigorating run AND a chance to check out the actual triathlon course for the first time. It’s Sunday morning, and I’m planning out my schedule for Week 3 of training while reflecting on Week 2.

In addition to physical treatment, we believe the rehabilitation process includes educating you as to how to best prevent further injuries.
