Six Packs and Sex Lives – Experience Life
Thoughts on Experience Life and the quirks that make it appealing to more than 3 million readers. It’s gratifying to me how frequently readers comment on what an exceptional health-and-fitness magazine Experience Life is. Where most fitness magazines exclusively address the physical body – its appearance and performance – Experience Life focuses on the whole person in the context of his or her larger life. We’ve featured moms, activists, adventurers, chefs, physically challenged athletes, 50-plus models, life coaches, Olympians, authors and other folks who inspire our readers to think bigger about what a healthy way of life is all about. Experience Life looks relatively normal at first glance: It’s a beautifully produced, glossy magazine aimed at a mainstream audience. Life Time Fitness has a vested interest in earning its member-readers’ trust and in helping them achieve their health-and-fitness goals for real, so Life Time Fitness gives us free rein to serve up sensible, reliable, usable information and advice that really works. Experience Life is written for people who have made a demonstrated commitment to their own health and fitness, but who may also have all sorts of other important things – like a career and family – going on in their lives. It’s even more important to us that, over time, someone who reads Experience Life comes away with a lasting, meaningful impression of how he or she can create the body and the life of his or her choosing – by making the commitment and then accessing the resources needed to carry out his or her highest choices on both a daily and lifelong basis. Boiled down, Experience Life’s mission is to help readers enjoy better bodies by empowering them to lead better lives. Whether you’re training for a triathlon, trying to keep up with your toddler, hoping to age gracefully or determined to get in the very best shape of your life, Experience Life is a magazine that can help you do all that and thoroughly enjoy the journey.
Journey to IRONMAN KY
HELLO.My name is Jessica and I am on a mission to compete in my first FULL IRONMAN triathlon competition on August 24, 2014 in Louisville, KY. I am 35 years old and ready to take on the biggest challenges of my life to date. Top professional triathletes who can dedicate their lives and train extensively will finish around 8 hours for males and 9 hours for females. I have tackled adventure racing and paddle board racing to mention a few. To put the race in perspective, I ranked 44th in the swim but turned that around and was the 3rd fastest in the bike and ranked 12th in the run. After completing my second Half I was on cloud 9 with my improvements and wanted to tackle the next challenge, a FULL IRONMAN distance. Well if you must know it didn’t take much time to convince me, and after much debate on which race to do we both settled on IRONMAN LOUISVILLE 2014. From the time of signing up we had 8 months to prepare for this race and I was excited but nervous at the same time. GRATEFULNESS.This is my first blog and my goal is to document my trials and tribulations leading up to my first IRONMAN. Unfortunately I do not have the luxury to train with a group of people to help me through the intense training schedule but I do have my race buddy and we put in countless hours of bike training together. Even though I cannot train continuously with a group of people to push me when I need it, I am looking forward to the journey of digging deep and conquering the mental challenges that get in my way as I endure hours of training at all hours of the day while I work around my work schedule. I hope you enjoy this blog and will become part of my journey and support team! I will not sugar coat anything and be real with you, life is not always peaches and cream but what doesn’t break you makes you stronger! At the same time I hope to inspire people to go out there and try new things and to get out of their comfort zone.
